Waiuku Container Nursery
PF Olsen has owned and operated a containerised nursery for close to 30 Years. Waiuku has the capability to produce over 6 million seedlings per year for purchase by forest owners throughout New Zealand. These forestry grade containerised seedlings have developed a reputation for being resilient seedling that performs well particularly on drier planting sites.
Over this time PF Olsens Waiuku nursery has been successfully growing a range of species to meet clients specifications, some of these species are:
Native species: Manuka, Kanuka, Karo, Pohutukawa, Totara
Exotic species: Radiata pine, Coastal Redwood, Eucalyptus, Douglas Fir, Cypress Species.
Container Grown Seedlings vs Bare Root Seedlings. Unlike bare-root seedlings, container-grown seedlings retain their intact root system in a fertile growth medium plug after lifting. This ‘pre-packed lunch’ stays with the seedlings all the way to the planting site.

Seed Orchards
PF Olsen has two seed orchards in Marlborough producing radiata pine seed. This seed is available for purchase by forest owners and nurseries in Australasia. All genetically improved seed sold is certified independently by the Radiata Pine Breeding Company.
PF Olsen produces control pollinated, open pollinated and stand select seed each year for sale.
