Update on our staff and operations after Cyclone Gabrielle

In the wake of Cyclone Gabrielle, many clients have contacted us regarding the welfare of our staff, in particular those in the Gisborne, Napier and Northland regions. Thank you for your concern.

We can confirm that all our staff and their immediate families are safe. Unfortunately, we still have some staff isolated and cut-off due to swollen waterways and damaged infrastructure.

Where possible, we have managed to update a few clients about parts of their forests when we carried out some ground inspections and a helicopter surveillance flight in Gisborne. In regard to the physical state of the forests, we will conduct aerial and/or ground inspections as soon as practicable. This may take some time as currently local aerial resources are required for civil emergency operations and the loss of key roads and bridges is restricting travel.

Regular operations are obviously severely affected and we appreciate your understanding as we work through these issues.

If any clients have particular concerns or queries about your forests, please contact the Rotorua staff below as communication is still very limited with the affected regions.

As soon as conditions allow, we will make a run to these locations with supplies that will assist their recovery. If you would like to contribute, please don’t hesitate to contact Scott.

Thanks,
