PF Olsen partner with Manuka Farming NZ
PF Olsen Ltd recently partnered with Manuka Farming New Zealand to provide a complete solution package to landowners interested in establishing manuka for land preservation and/or manuka honey production. The two companies will work together to assist landowners in their respective areas of expertise to achieve the best manuka establishment and management solutions for their clients.
Manuka Farming NZ can offer expert advice to landowners on the selection of manuka cultivars which will be the most productive on their site, ensuring that the high DHA nectar required for high quality manuka honey is produced. They can also provide manuka plantation appraisals and financial modelling information to help landowners with their investment decisions and offer introductory information on apiary services.
PF Olsen’s focus will be plantation management. PF Olsen’s extensive experience as a leading provider of forestry management services in NZ means it is perfectly positioned to provide assistance to landowners regarding the practicalities of establishing a manuka crop. The collaboration with Manuka Farming NZ is to ensure that clients get the best possible advice on manuka establishment and growing and access to the best genetic planting stock. PF Olsen can even grow the manuka planting stock at its container tree nursery near Waiuku, South Auckland.
PF Olsen offer interested landowners a package which includes a site visit to assess the site for planting, after which they can provide an establishment budget and recommendations to landowners. Due to its large scale of operations, PF Olsen offers competitive pricing to landowners for all phases of the establishment process and manages the whole operation from start to finish. Robust health and safety policies and auditing means that landowners can be confident that work on their land will be conducted safely to the highest standard and that their principal’s duties are fully discharged.
