Waikato BOP NZ Young Farmer Regional Final

The weather played along and the seven contestants, 3 female and 4 male, provided a high standard of competition in all events with plenty of support and encouragement from MC Te Radar.

The PF Olsen forestry component of the competition consisted of a log grading exercise, a road planning paper test and with some forestry general knowledge questions. The competitors all got stuck in and performed admirably in what was, for most, their first exposure to some fundamental forestry practices. We received a lot of positive feedback from the Reporoa Young Famers committee and the contestants, who all said they had learned something new.

Thanks to the Reporoa Young Farmers club for the opportunity to participate in this great community event and to Russell Schaare and Luke Holmes from PF Olsen for organising the forestry component.
