Forest Growers Research conference

With the current Forest Grower Levy that is supporting much of this research work coming to an end in late 2019 and a referendum on a new levy planned for March/April 2019 the opportunity was taken to provide an update on the wider forest grower levy funded work programme. https://levyvote2019.nz

An easy to read summary of each session of the conference has been prepared and for the first time the conference presentations were recorded on video. These can be viewed on the Forest Growers Research website at the locations below.

The conference field trip included a visit to the Port of Tauranga to view export log operations and log fumigation treatments and methyl bromide recapture technology followed by a visit to an award winning farm forestry property at Welcome Bay to discuss issues confronting small growers and market options for alternative species.
