With the current Forest Grower Levy that is supporting much of this research work coming to an end in late 2019 and a referendum on a new levy planned for March/April 2019 the opportunity was taken to provide an update on the wider forest grower levy funded work programme. https://levyvote2019.nz

The conference field trip included a visit to the Port of Tauranga to view export log operations and log fumigation treatments and methyl bromide recapture technology followed by a visit to an award winning farm forestry property at Welcome Bay to discuss issues confronting small growers and market options for alternative species.
