From June to August, PF Olsen is running safety messages on local radio stations to remind forest workers of key safety principles whilst going to work and returning home. We all share the goal of all forest workers returning home safely each day. As a sector we are constantly searching for new and better ways of improving safety in the forest. Regular broadcasting of safety messages during times crews are driving to and from work was proposed by contractors as a good way of keeping critical messages “top-of-mind”.
Timeslots are 5:00 – 7:00am and 3:00 – 5:00pm to coincide with workers going to work and returning home. Radio stations being used in the campaign include THE ROCK, THE SOUND, RADIO LIVE and ONE-DOUBLE-X. This is aimed at giving good coverage for [north of] Taupo, Rotorua, Tokoroa, Coromandel, Tauranga, Whakatane and Opotiki (i.e. most of the Bay of Plenty).
The initial campaign is scheduled to run June-August 2015.
