Sabre Logging Continues to be Recognised for Excellence

PF Olsen is proud to be working with harvesting crew, Sabre Logging, in the Southern North Island. Sabre was featured in Issue 24 of Wood Matters (September 2010) for receiving a commendation from the Department of Labour for their commitment to Health and Safety. Since then Sabre has continued to work hard on safety and skill development. This has been picked up by the Top Spot national audits. In addition to winning the overall top ground-based operation in the first quarter, Sabre can boast a very high rate of individual awards amongst its dedicated crew. Three members of the crew were awarded with top-three placings in their respective site tasks. And another crew member achieved a fourth placing. Results are as follows:

  • Overall top ground based operation - (first quarter).
  • Ross Cameron awarded 2nd then 3rd in two audits for log making in 2010.
  • Daniel Gillard awarded 4th for machine operation - (third quarter).
  • Davie Garland awarded 2nd for tree felling - (third quarter).

Sabre was also recognised in the New Zealand Logger magazine (November and December 2010 issues) for these achievements.

PF Olsen congratulates Sabre for this demonstration of commitment to excellence in operational performance and safety and look forward to continuing to work with the team in getting the best possible returns from harvesting client's forests.
