Throughout the world, companies and governments are coming under increasing pressure to adopt measures to verify that products have been produced by methods that are environmentally acceptable.
The FSC® certification system is currently one of the most established and recognised in the world and the only one currently used in New Zealand. Certification ensures that products come from well-managed forests that provide environmental, social and economic benefits.
FSC® certification provides proof that forest products come from responsibly managed forests.
Incorporating the FSC® Principles and Criteria in the management plans for participating forest owners is relatively easy within the Environmental Management System. We apply the FSC® chain of custody rules when harvesting FSC® certified forests and actively participate in developing national FSC® standards for plantation forestry.
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®) provides certification for forestry management companies. They also provide ‘chain of custody’ certification for businesses that add value to forestry products.
