Harvest Planner/Engineer - Blenheim

At PF Olsen we offer a supportive work environment and an attractive employee benefits package.  If you have 2 or more years’ previous experience in Harvest Planning / Engineering, and you are a team player with great communication skills, then you could be the candidate we are seeking to join our Blenheim team

Duties will include:

  • Planning harvesting operations to a high level of performance in H&S and Environmental
  • Developing effective harvest plans for ground based and cable operations
  • Analysing harvesting options and undertaking assessments of environmental effects to support consent applications
  • Designing roads for expected vehicle demands
  • Developing road construction programmes to support forestry operations
  • Client liaison and written reporting

To be successful you will already have:

  • 2 or more years’ experience in Harvest Planning/Engineering
  • Proven teamwork skills
  • A tertiary qualification in Forestry (preferable)
  • Proven track-record, with 
  • Excellent interpersonal and team skills
  • Good communication and written skills

Harvest Planner - Waipapa

PF Olsen Ltd prides itself in remaining leaders in the field when it comes to our work processes, health & safety and environmental systems. We have over 46 years’ experience in the Forestry Services industry, with offices throughout New Zealand and Australia. Regional growth means we are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Harvest Planner to join our high performing Waipapa, Northland team.  Located close to Kerikeri in the idyllic ‘winterless’ Bay of Islands, the region is a fantastic base to visit golden sandy beaches and historic towns and landmarks; or to get involved in the numerous sports on offer including big game fishing, kayaking, sailing or mountain biking.

Forest Field Technician - Waipapa

At PF Olsen we offer a supportive work environment and an attractive employee benefits package.  This role will ideally suit an individual that likes working in the outdoors, has a good work ethic and attention to detail.

Duties will include:

  • Data Collection – including; field operation QC plotting, measurement of research trials, inventory plotting and measurement
  • Field area mark up of forestry operations
  • Log value and optimisation auditing
  • Onsite monitoring of aerial spraying operations
  • Environmental and Health & Safety auditing

To be successful you will already have:

  • Proven team work skills
  • A National Certificate in Forestry Mensuration (or relevant Forestry experience)
  • Good communication, computer and written skills
  • Accurate numeric skills

Forest Consultant - Rotorua

Our consulting team is an integral part of our company success and we are currently seeking an experienced Forestry Consultant to join our high performing team.  Our team provides consultancy services including commercial and technical forestry-based solutions for New Zealand and international clients.  This position is based in our modern Head Office premises in Rotorua, and adjacent to the popular walking and cycling tracks of the famous Redwood Forest.

To be successful you will already have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Forestry
  • Registered member of the NZIF (preferable)
  • NZ forestry consultancy experience is preferred, however significant experience as a resource / technical forester will also be considered
  • Excellent interpersonal and team skills
  • Excellent communication, accuracy and written skills
  • Client relationship skills
  • Ability to assist with Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) applications

Duties will include:

  • Providing competent and timely forest consulting services to clients
  • Conducting due diligence for forest acquisitions or afforestation opportunities
  • Providing timely and accurate forestry valuations and feasibilities
  • Technical forestry solutions and advice
