Forest Manager, Rotorua

PF Olsen’s key purpose is to maximize value for forest owners through all aspects of forest management, from planting through to harvesting and marketing, while managing commercial and statutory risks.  It is important to us that we remain leaders in the field when it comes to our work processes, health & safety and environmental systems.

If you are an experienced and motivated Forest Manager, a team player with a can-do attitude, then you are who we are looking for! Come join the team based in our modern Head Office situated among the popular cycle and walking tracks of the Rotorua Redwoods.

Duties will include:

  • Best practice management of health, safety and the environment
  • Managing establishment/silviculture crews to a high level of performance
  • Client management and reporting

To be successful you will already have:

  •        A tertiary qualification in Forestry or equivalent experience
  •        Proven track-record, with 5 or more years’ experience in Forest Management
  •        Excellent interpersonal and team skills
  •        Good communication and written skills

Harvest Manager, Rotorua / Waikato

If you are an experienced, motivated and vibrant Harvest Manager, a team player with a can-do attitude, then you are who we are looking for to join out Harvesting team. This position will be servicing the harvesting operations of the beautiful Waikato/King County region.

Duties will include:

  • Best practice management of health, safety and the environment
  • Managing harvesting crews to a high level of performance
  • Road engineering and harvest planning
  • Client management and reporting

To be successful you will already have:

  •        A tertiary qualification in Forestry (preferable)

Harvest Manager, Whanganui

If you are an experienced and motivated Harvest Manager, a team player with a can-do attitude, then you are who we are looking for to join our Harvesting team. Based in the Whanganui region, you’ll have the ability to see all that the Manawatu has to offer.

Duties will include:

  • Best practice management of health, safety and the environment
  • Managing harvesting crews to a high level of performance
  • Road engineering and harvest planning
  • Client management and reporting

To be successful you will already have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Forestry (preferable)
  • Proven track-record, with 3 or more years’ experience in Harvest Management

Business Development Manager, Southern North Island 

Due to ongoing expansion, we are currently seeking to add a vibrant and motivated Business Development Manager to join our Wellington team. This role will grow our forestry and harvest business in the Southern North Island region and will ideally suit someone with a forestry management background, strong relationship building skills and a keen interest in sales. 

Duties will include:

  • Seeking opportunities to manage harvesting and marketing for forest and woodlot owners.
  • Negotiating and preparing log sale and service agreements.
  • Assisting with the procurement of contractor capacity.

To be successful you will already have:

  •        Excellent communication/interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with a wide range of people.
  •        Outstanding drive, resilience and ability to meet targets and succeed.
  •        Formal training or qualifications in sales/marketing, forestry or agriculture.
  •        Knowledge of domestic and export log markets.

Business Development Manager, Northern South Island 

Due to ongoing expansion, we are currently seeking to add a vibrant and motivated person to join our Christchurch based team in the newly created role of Business Development Manager. This role will grow our forestry and harvest business in the Northern South Island region and will ideally suit someone with a forestry management background, strong relationship building skills and a keen interest in sales.

  • Negotiating and preparing log sale and service agreements.
  • Assisting with the procurement of contractor capacity.

 Duties will include:

  • Seeking opportunities to manager harvesting and marketing for forest and woodlot owners.
  • Negotiating and preparing log sale and service agreements.
  • Assisting with the management of harvest operations and logistics.

 To be successful you will already have:

  •        Previous operational harvesting experience.
  •        Excellent communication/interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with a wide range of people.
  •        Outstanding drive, resilience and ability to meet targets and succeed.
  •        Formal training or qualifications in sales/marketing, forestry or agriculture.
  •        Knowledge of domestic and export log markets.
